My Thoughts

Before I start to review this graphic novel, I just want to say that I’m not much of a big fan of DC Comics. I actually don’t know why. I mean I probably do but they’re not good reasons to dislike DC. Let me just name a few:

  • I think some of their superheroes for example: Superman, Batman are too overrated for me
  • The artwork is really good but compared to Marvel Comics they’re not THAT awesome
  • My favourite superheroes are mainly from Marvel for example: X-men (actually mainly just X-men I like)

I know that’s stupid reasons but they’re reasons why I don’t like DC Comics. The only ones I do like from DC Comics are probably Joker and his girlfriend Harley. Let’s say the villains? and Wonder Woman. And on top of that I LOVE powers, like legit powers not gadgets (what Batman does).

Anyways back to the Review. I liked this comic book. It was sad to read about Lois Lane, especially after what Superman did to her. I felt for Superman the most in this comic. What he went through and how he thought taking over the whole world will resolve his own sorrow. Maybe not literally taking over the world. I know he was trying to do good, spreading the peace and all but reading more of what he was trying to do, it sounded like taking over the world. Oh and I forgot to mention, my all time favourite heroine ‘Wonder Woman’ is in this. 🙂

She’s bad-ass, a Princess, a warrior and she reminds me of Ororo and Princess Xena. She did slightly annoy me in this Volume, only because she loved Superman too much to tell him what he is doing is too much. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? If you love someone, wouldn’t you tell him to stop before he starts hurting others especially himself?

So yeah. I can’t wait to read the next volume. The ending of this volume was sort of a cliffhanger for me. I mean I didn’t expect Batman to do this. I kind of had that feeling that he would do something like this but I didn’t know he would actually action it. I guess what happened to Nightwing must’ve triggered that part of him to resist.
